Artist Statement

YITING LIU is an artist who started to paint in San Francisco at the Academy of Art University(AAU). There she acquired her first Master's degree in Arts. Later she got her second Master's degree at the New York Academy of Art (NYAA). Yiting liu is currently based in New York pursuing her art journey.

From her early years, Yiting Liu's artistic sensibility was nurtured. This was through consistent training in Music and Art school since she was three. As an artist, she intricately weaves music into her paintings, using harmonious colors and brushstrokes to communicate a symphony of visual elements.

Inspired by the rich tapestry of pre-Qin Chinese history and literature, she delves into the intricate relationships between the Chinese music system and painting narratives, exploring their evolution within a multicultural context. Liu's background as a musician amplifies her comprehension of Confucian, Taoist, and Buddhist philosophies. That influences her approach to visual storytelling in painting.
